Gardens, Lakes and Mountains of Kashmir
Pristine snow-capped peaks, misty green valleys, translucent lakes and abundance of flowers and fruits, the Mughal King Jahangir was so bewitched by the beauty of Kashmir that he exclaimed “If there is a paradise on earth, it is here, it is here, it is here“.
Kashmir woos everyone with its ethereal beauty of beautifully manicured gardens against the picturesque backdrop of towering snow capped mountains and verdant valleys. Truly a traveller’s paradise, on this holiday you will spend time amidst nature and tranquility.

Day 1. To Delhi
Departure from your home country.
Day 2. Delhi To Srinagar
Arrive in Delhi and connect to a domestic flight to Srinagar. Then transfer to a charming houseboat. After lunch, enjoy a relaxing ride on a traditional Shikara, the iconic local boat dotting all the lakes in Kashmir. Four nights stay on the houseboat.
Day 3. Srinagar
Morning at leisure to revel in the beauty of the lake and the mountains from the sun deck of your houseboat. After lunch, leave the houseboat by shikara for the Pari Mahal Ghat. Here you will visit the Pari Mahal, Nishat and Shalimar Mughal Gardens. The Pari Mahal was originally a Buddhist monastery and later converted to an astrological school by Dara Shikoh, the eldest son of Emperor Shah Jahan. The Nishat – or The Garden of Bliss – with its glorious views of the snow capped mountains, was created by Asif Khan on the banks of Dal Lake. The lovely Shalimar Bagh – The Abode of Love – was inspired by Emperor Jahangir’s love for his wife Nur Jahan.
Day 4. Srinagar
After breakfast, embark upon a walking tour and discover the heritage and culture of the city. See the ancient shrines and mosques, wander the streets lined with soft hued burnt brick buildings and visit some of the famous Srinagar bridges. Partake in a delicious cup of Kahwa, traditional Kashmiri Tea. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 5. Srinagar
A delightful day’s outing to see the beautiful Manasbal Lake, especially surreal when the water lilies are in bloom. For lunch, enjoy a leisurely picnic at Daroga Bagh, now known as Jharokha Garden, again built by Emperor Jahangir for his wife Nur Jahan. The view across the lake is superb. Later, visit a silk worm farm and see how these fascinating worms (in the pupa part of their life-cycle) weave their magical threads.
Day 6. To Gulmarg
Early morning optional visit to the bustling vegetable market and then a short journey will transport you to The Meadow of Flowers.
