Battlefield and Family History

India has been the site of a multitude of battles, right from the epic battle of Kurukshetra fought over 3000 years ago. More recently, in 1944, what has been described as one of the greatest battles of the Second World War took place in Northeast India, around the towns of Imphal in Manipur and Kohima in Nagaland, where the Japanese clashed with British-Indian soldiers. The decisive but prolonged Imphal-Kohima battle finally ended with one of the biggest defeats the Japanese Army ever suffered. On our battlefield tours, explore battle sites in detail with a military expert and gain insights into how the battles were carried out.
