This 15-day culinary tour of North India encapsulates the grand North Indian cuisine. From the spicy and delicious street-food to the coveted kitchens of the Nawabs and the Kings, discover the varied aspects of North Indian food and immerse yourself in the flavours and aromas.

North Indian food is influenced by various cultures and has a recorded history of more than 500 years. So far, this culinary journey in India has been quite fascinating. Be a part of it.

Day 01. To Delhi

Departure from your home country to New Delhi.

Day 02. Delhi

Arrival Delhi and then on meeting, assistance on arrival and transfer to your hotel by a private chauffeur-driven air-conditioned car. Stay at The Manor Hotel for 2 nights.

Day 03. Delhi

Morning sightseeing of Old Delhi including an exhilarating cycle rickshaw ride to the Jama Masjid through the bustling Chandni Chowk, Red Fort and its back roads, which were the centre of the city Shah Jehanabad in the Mughal times. Finally, continue onto the Raj Ghat – Mahatma Gandhi’s cremation site.

Afternoon sightseeing of dynamic New Delhi including the impressive Humayun’s Tomb, Qutab Minar and the India Gate. Also drive past the Parliament Building and the President’s House.

Day 04. To Lucknow

After an early breakfast, transfer to the airport to board your flight to Lucknow. Reception on arrival and transfer to your hotel. Evening introductory cooking demonstration at the hotel on the fabled Awadhi cuisine – the Chefs were the highest paid members of the Nawabs Court- it took at least 10 years to be considered a ‘Chef’ and at least 20 to be a ‘Master’ in that court. Three nights at Vivanta by Taj Gomti Nagar.

Day 05. Lucknow

Demonstration of the world famous cuisines of Lucknow at a local restaurant.

Day 06. Lucknow

Morning city tour of Lucknow including the Residency with its poignant memories of the India Mutiny (known in India as the Indian Uprising).

Late afternoon meet with Lucknow’s Royal family at the Palace. Before a sumptuous dinner with the family, watch the highly skilled chefs prepare the meal, and learn about the techniques used in preparing these creative cuisines. The Nawabs will be dressed in their traditional attire.

Day 07. To Agra

Early morning transfer to the railway station to board your train to Agra.

On arrival, transfer to your hotel. Stay at ITC Mughal Hotel for 2 nights. Remainder of the day at leisure (Taj Mahal remains closed on Fridays)

Day 08. Agra

Sunrise visit to the breathtaking Taj Mahal, an unsurpassed expression of love. Morning talk on Mughlai dishes followed by a demonstration by a Masterchef on favourite dishes of the Mughal Emperors with lunch. Afternoon visit to the Taj Mahal and impressive Red Fort.

Day 09. To Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri

After breakfast drive to Fatehpur Sikri the magnificent deserted capital city of the Mughal Emperor Akbar. Then on, via Jaipur, to the Chokhi Dhani for a traditional Rajasthani welcome and dinner. Overnight stay at Samode Haveli.

Day 10. To Pachewar Garh

Morning elephant ride to the imposing Amber Fort and the city tour of Jaipur including the City Museum and Palace of the Winds. Afternoon drive to Pachewar Garh Fort for 03 nights stay.

Day 11. Pachewar Garh

Explore the surroundings of this old principality of the Rathore clan. A member of the family will talk about various customs and culture of the region- followed by a traditional dinner.

Day 12. Pachewar Garh

Help will be provided to cook a Rajasthani breakfast this morning. Simple dishes will be demonstrated in the kitchen. Later visit a nearby village, where traditional cooking techniques will be shown. Return to the hotel kitchen and cook local dishes for your dinner. After dining, relax while listening to local folk music.

Day 13. To Pushkar

After breakfast drive to Pushkar. Afternoon visit to Pushkar Lake- wander around the Bathing Ghats and ancient Temples. Pushkar is a sacred Hindu site and home to the only Temple dedicated to Brahma. Overnight at Pushkar Palace Hotel.

Day 14. To Delhi

In the morning visit the Ajmer Sheriff – the ancient Holy shrine of Shiekh Salim Ud Din Chisti. Afternoon train journey to Delhi by Shatabdi Express. Dinner will be on board the train. Overnight at Royal Plaza Hotel.

Day 15. On the final day

Departure for your home country.
